About Our Blog

Me-Version 5.0 is about coming of age.  We don’t mean ‘those awful teenage years’ endlessly discussed by society.  This is about the age nobody wants to talk about.

Let’s say you are approaching your big milestone.  What should it feel like?  What does it actually feel like?  What if it feels like you’re having difficulty continuing with the same life?  Something starts happening – you are not interested in your work anymore, you can’t sleep at night because of the stress, and your body starts failing you.  First you think you can control it the way you’ve been controlling everything else in your life – self-discipline, gym, healthy eating, etc.  Then the first doubt comes in – normal controls don’t work anymore.  At first you can’t even define what is going on.  It’s just that the word “age” has started to have a rather personal ring to it and you don’t like seeing your face in the mirror in the morning anymore.

You look around and see people going happily about their day while you feel like a squashed cabbage leaf most of the time.  You have moments when you feel lonely and separated from everyone and everything, like looking at the world through glass.  Your usual drive and feeling of joy are no longer there.  It’s as though a source of your life energy has dried up.   This is when you know – to stay the same is no longer an option.  Change has been forced on you.

If this resonates with you, then you are very much like us.  In a way this should come as good news, because it means that you are not alone.  Indeed, this is how the idea for this blog came about.  After a couple of years of silent struggle, we finally started talking to other women and realised (again) that the most personal experiences are also often the most common, and that what we are going through is NORMAL, even if it isn’t pleasant. Anyway, who decided that only pleasant things are normal?  This is not something that unexpectedly HAPPENS to us, this is what is supposed to happen – even when the whole of society tells us that we are supposed to stay young forever.

Well, from our personal experience we can’t stay young forever.  This is our COMING OF AGE! And we are going to talk about it with you.

We look forward to meeting you!
